“Give Business A Shot in the Arm” COVID-19 Vaccination Incentive Program

 Updated July 22, 2021*

Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce (GSVCC) and Greater Spokane Incorporated (GSI) were two of 11 Chambers that partnered with Association of Washington Business (AWB) and WA Department of Commerce in a Chamber Vaccine Incentive Program funded through State Emergency Disaster Relief Funds. This program coined “Give Local Business A Shot In The Arm” was designed as a statewide initiative to incentivize high risk populations to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. The goal was to increase the immunized population to a level that reduces the risk to the greater population of infection. An additional goal was to help many of the struggling businesses in our communities by providing $50 gift card incentives to people who received vaccinations – with the ultimate goal of spending the money locally.

The program ran for almost four weeks in Spokane County, from June 16 through July 11. Of the 4,000 $50 gift cards provided to GSI and GSVCC, over 3,000 were distributed in our community, totaling over $150,000. Nine different organizations partnered with GSI and GSVCC to distribute the gift cards and there were 41 unique pop-up and daily clinics that offered gift cards to those receiving vaccinations. During the last two weeks of the program, we were excited to increase the incentive to two gift cards ($100) for each person vaccinated.

Shout out to the great partners in our community who diligently worked with us daily; CHAS, Consistent Care, MultiCare, Providence, Gonzaga University, Range Health, Spectrum, Spokane Regional Health District, Unify, and The Native Project. Thank you all!

Original Program Updated June 28, 2021 People who receive their first or second COVID-19 vaccination dose at select locations between Tuesday, June 29 and Wednesday June 30 will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card (while supplies last) courtesy of the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce, Greater Spokane Inc., the Association of Washington Business, and the Washington State Department of Commerce.

The “Give Business a Shot in the Arm” program’s purpose is to increase the immunized population to reduce the risk of infection and limit the spread of the virus. This will also help our local economy began its recovery process. The coalition of economic development organizations encourage participants to spend the $100 locally, to help give our local businesses “a shot in the arm” as well.

The offer is extended to all Washington residents currently eligible to be vaccinated. To receive the gift card, the individual receiving the vaccination must provide their name, and phone number or email address to the program representative on-site. Each person is only allowed one gift card for the duration of the program (either first or second dose, not both).

Vaccination sites participating are located throughout Spokane County. Incentive card supplies are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Below is a complete list of locations that are participating in the program:
