Lemonade Day contest winners announced

June 19, 2017

The 2017 Greater Spokane Valley Lemonade Day contest winners were recognized at the June Business Connections Breakfast:
Best Taste: Anthony’s Lemonade

  • Anthony DeLeon

Anthony’s Lemonade was made with lots of love from a secret family recipe. The judges agreed that Anthony’s lemonade recipe was refreshing, innovative and like spring-time in a cup!
Most Creative: Pioneer Lemonade

  • Connor Simonds
  • Connor Gosselin Harris

As their entry stated, “This lemonade is special because it reminds you of the pioneer days when lemonade was a real treat and people did not get fresh citrus very often.” The judges agreed!
Best Taste Overall: “Black Mango”

  • Landon Rosauer

What made this special was the unusual combination of two very different fruits–blackberries and mangoes. The judges loved this–creative and delicious!
Best Stand: “Peachy Tiki”

  • Gracie Abraham
  • Caitlyn Bindrum
  • Chloe Brooks
  • Tiffany Evans
  • Vivian Evans
  • Terranne Spessard-Auckerman
  • Grace Migliuri

This Girl Scout troop went through quite a process in developing their business. After trying over 20 recipes and flavor mixes, they finally had a specialty lemonade they could all get excited about. From there, they developed a Hawaiian beachy theme, found a tiki hut for their stand and took the theme all the way through from shirts to product–the Peachy Tiki! The girls greeted potential customers with flyers to let them know about Lemonade Day and why they were selling lemonade. They encouraged customers to ask about their goals and what they learned.
Best Business: “Peachy Tiki”
Congratulations to all of our young entrepreneurs. We are excited to see your businesses grow into the future!
We would like to thank our major sponsors for Lemonade Day—BECU, City of Spokane Valley, City of Liberty Lake, and Avista.”
