My name is Wasana McGowan. I was born in Thailand and raised in Spokane Valley where I attended University High school. I go by my nickname Dee Dee. I have been employed with the Coeur d’ Alene Casino Resort Hotel in Worley, ID for 18 years. My current position is The Cultural Tourism/Tour Bussing/Sponsorship Manager. I absolutely love the Coeur d’ Alene Tribe’s values, traditions and generosity to our communities.
I started as a banquet server and was gradually promoted throughout the years and was a bar lead, assistant restaurant manager, an auxiliary food outlet manager, player’s club, promotions and event manager. Before coming to the casino, I had many different jobs throughout college as a server, a banquet captain, bartender, a lead medical receptionist, restaurant manager, medical accessioning, a professor’s student assistant and assembly line. Just like my family, I carry a very strong work ethic and always had many jobs at one time.
I have two children of my own and two step-children, all girls, ranging from ages 11 – 29 yrs. old. I have five sisters and three brothers, they live in Spokane, Washington and other states. Every year we go on a family trip to the Oregon Coast and go crabbing, and throughout the summer we enjoy boating and camping.
Being in the tourism industry I have the opportunity to travel, meet new people and present our wonderful destination in the beautiful area of North Idaho, and share The Coeur d’ Alene Tribe’s land and Culture through our Cultural Tourism program.
