About the Spokane Valley Cares Grant Program

The City of Spokane Valley CARES Act Grant Program is designed to assist small businesses and nonprofits during the current economic challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The application to apply will be available to access and submit between August 24 and September 4, 2020.

The city allocated $829,498 in grants for small businesses and $411,640 for nonprofit organizations. Those applying for a grant must meet established criteria to be included in the lottery process, which will be how selections will be made. Those selected for a grant will receive up to $7,158. All grants will be distributed by October 31, 2020.

Applicants must meet Federal CARES Act requirements, disclose their expenses to date and estimated revenue lost in 2020 to demonstrate how the pandemic has impacted their organization between March 1 – October 31, 2020.

The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce (GSVCC) was selected by the Spokane Valley City Council to administer the program. We have partnered with the Innovia Foundation for online application hosting, processing, software, and database services. We have also partnered with Greater Spokane Inc. for assistance in the application process design and the application review.
