Born in Wenatchee Washington and grew up in Western Washington (Mukilteo Everett area). Graduated from Cascade (Everett) high school and received an AA degree from Everett Community college. Left college after my 3 rd year and joined the Bon Marche (now Macys) competed in their management training program and became a department manager. Left the Bon Marche and became a partner in Snohomish county largest sporting goods store. Then moved on to become the parts manager and later the business manager of a new and used car dealership. In 1971 joined the Snohomish County Public Utility District (10 th largest PUD in the nation and at that time served over 200,000 customers) as a meter reader. Progressed thru many positions including customer service, accounting, purchasing, contract management and inventory and stores management. After 21 years with the Snohomish County PUD, accepted the General Managers position with Modern Electric Water Company and moved to the Spokane Valley in 1992. Retired from Modern in 2016. Have received many certifications which included a utility accounting certification, certified purchasing manager and numerous certifications in human resources, communications, management and accounting/finance. Nominated as the water commissioner of the year for Washington State. Was a publicly elected water commissioner for a special purpose water and waste water district and held that position for 12 years until moving to Spokane Valley. Was a member of the mayor’s advisory committee in Mukilteo Washington. Has been very active in community organizations including president of the advisory committee for the Mukilteo Boys and Girls clubs of America. President of the advisory committee for the Sno-Isle Skills Center. Past president and treasurer of the Lilac City Dog Training Club in Spokane. Served on the Executive Committee, treasurer and chairman of the budget and finance committee for the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce. Currently on the Chambers finance committee and the Chamber foundation board. Enjoy boating going to dog shows with my wife Linda and playing pickleball.
