Greater Outdoors: Appleway Trail to be extended

February 8, 2018
The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce lends support in various ways to projects that fit within our “Greater Outdoors” initiative. Recently, we attended an update on the continuation of the Appleway Trail in Spokane Valley.
On February 6th, the City of Spokane Valley hosted an informational community meeting at Greenacres Middle School. This meeting was open to the public to inform them of the impending $1.98 million project of paving an Appleway Trail segment from Sullivan Rd. to Corbin Rd. in Spokane Valley. City officials anticipate construction to begin in March 2018 and will be finished in June of the same year.
Traffic updates are as follows:
  • There will be single lane closures on N. Sullivan and W. Sprague from 9am-2pm.
  • North and Southbound Conklin lane shifts due to flagger positioning in center of the roadway during work hours.
  • Tschirley Rd./ Wye will be closed to thru traffic (One closed at a time)
  • Steen Rd./Flora Rd. will be closed to thru traffic (One closed at a time)
