SPOKANE VALLEY, WA. – The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica “Jessie” Laughery as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective May 11, 2026.
Jessie Laughery brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning, forming collaborative relationships, leading successful fundraising campaigns, and stewarding important community relationships. In addition, Jessie brings substantial experience in public policy and advocacy work.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jessie to lead the Chamber into its next chapter,” said Chud Wendle, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Her proven track record in community engagement, public policy, strategic planning, and passion for supporting local businesses make her the ideal choice to advance our mission. Her background growing up in a small business along with her previous employment is the ideal foundation for growing the Chamber’s momentum and fostering economic growth and community development throughout the Spokane Valley region.”
As CEO, Laughery will oversee the Chamber’s strategic initiatives, advocate for local businesses, strengthen partnerships across the region, and lead the strong Chamber team. Her leadership will play a key role in enhancing economic vitality and supporting entrepreneurs, small businesses, educational partners, government partners, non-profits, and corporate members alike.

Having grown up in a small family business, I also understand the commitment it takes to build and sustain something meaningful. I look forward to building on that foundation, especially in areas like workforce development, where we have an opportunity to better connect employers, education, and talent to support long-term growth and opportunity across the Valley.”
Jessie most recently served as Director of Strategic Programs & Initiatives for Joya Child & Family Development where she provided strategic leadership to advance Joya’s organizational priorities, expanding access to early intervention services, strengthening long-term program stability, and building Joya’s capacity for regional research and advocacy. Prior to Joya, Jessie spent 7 years as the Director of Community Engagement & Stewardship at the Hutton Settlement Children’s Home where she successfully led a $9 million capital campaign and started a successful annual giving program. Jessie also worked as Director of Constituent and Community Relations in the office of Former Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers. Jessie has her MBA from Whitworth University, BA in Public Relations, Political Science from Gonzaga University and is a graduate of Leadership Spokane. Jessie is married to Alex and mother to Jack.
The Chamber also extends its gratitude to Lance Beck for his leadership and contributions during his tenure.
Since 1921, the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce has been the catalyst for building relationships, driving collaboration, and championing opportunity for the Greater Spokane Valley. Today, the Valley Chamber serves businesses and organization members throughout the Greater Spokane Valley, including the cities of Spokane Valley, Millwood, Liberty Lake, and unincorporated areas of Spokane County.
