January 28, 2020 — The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce held its’ annual Gem of the Valley Awards Gala on Friday, January 24th. This ceremony honored the businesses and individuals that make our community a better place to live, work and do business. The award winners exemplify excellence through proven growth, innovation, business and community achievements.
Our 2020 recipients of a Gem of the Valley Award include:
Chamber Volunteer of the Year—Danielle Milton, Spokane County Library District
Chamber Ambassador of the Year—Jim Reincke, Haven Real Estate Group
Heart of the Community—Peggy Doering, Valleyfest
Entrepreneur of the Year—Ben Wick, The Splash/The Current
Lifetime Achievement Award—Wayne Frost, Frost Consulting, PLLC
Citizen of the Year—Ben Small, Central Valley School District
Nonprofit of the Year—Blessings Under the Bridge
Small Business of the Year—Movher, LLC
Medium Business of the Year—Modern Electric Water Co.
Large Business of the Year —STCU
Several years ago, educators from each of the area school districts were added to the list of award winners in order to highlight their contribution in adding to the future workforce and future business leaders. They are selected by the superintendent of their district.
Educators of the Year:
Central Valley School District—Analise McCann, Broadway Elementary
East Valley School District—Lois Musser, Trent Elementary
Freeman School District—Denise Conrad, Freeman Elementary and Freeman Middle School
West Valley School District—Suzanne Ruth-Scott, Spokane Valley High School
