Only 2 weeks until Lemonade Day

May 5, 2017

Greater Spokane Valley, WA – Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches kids how to start, own and operate their very own business.  Lemonade Day has spread to over 60 cities and 3 countries.  Our goal is to educate our young entrepreneurs who will operate their new businesses across the Greater Spokane Valley – on a single day.  Lemonade Day is May 20th!
Over 230 kids are being taught the valuable lessons of Lemonade Day through Central Valley School District, East Valley School District, West Valley School District, Pioneer School, HUB Sports Center and Girl Scouts.  Our young entrepreneurs will learn how to set a goal, develop a product, create a business plan, develop a marketing strategy, work the plan and achieve their dreams. Once a youth pays their investor back, they keep all of the money they earn and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some of their profit.
Lemonade Day is proudly presented locally by the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce.  Lemonade Day fuels two of the chamber’s Big 5 initiatives.  Greater Learning is focused on building our workforce of the future through the partnership of business and our educational community.   It also supports the Greater Vision initiative in building an enterprising identity for the Greater Spokane Valley region.
More than 48 businesses and organizations are currently supporting Lemonade Day through direct sponsorships, providing locations for lemonade stands as well as volunteers.  Major sponsors include:  The City of Spokane Valley, The City of Liberty Lake, Avista and BECU.  Supporting sponsors include:  De Leon Foods, Global Credit Union, Horizon Credit Union, Spokane Gymnastics, Walmart, Washington Trust Bank, Waste Management of Spokane and Fred Meyer.
A map of all the lemonade stands can be found on the evening of May 15th at: https://greaterspokanevalley.lemonadeday.org/official-map
