Transportation Meeting Summary
September 20, 2018
Anyone who has done a remodeling project knows about hidden issues and unforeseen costs. That’s what the Washington Department of Transportation discussed at the recent Transportation Meeting. Bob Hilmes, Project Engineer for the North/South Corridor and Roger Miller, the Secretary of Transportation highlighted a unique community effort that was a result of the project’s delays.
Over the past two years, WSDOT has asked members of the community to provide ideas for a non-motorized companion route to the future US 395 called the “Children of the Sun Trail”. The results of the surveys are in and you can read about the process and the urban planning tool called “Placemaking” at NSCPlace.com.
