Jim van Löben Sels serves as General Manager of Mt. Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park, bringing more than two decades of leadership in hospitality, operations, and regional economic development.

After earning a degree in Agricultural Economics from UC Davis, Jim and his wife relocated to Spokane in 1999 to lead her family’s winery, Arbor Crest Wine Cellars. As General Manager for 23 years, Jim helped grow the 40-year-old estate into a premier destination, expanding its event and concert programs and welcoming more than 60,000 guests annually.

In 2020, Jim stepped into his lifelong passion for skiing, accepting the GM role at Mt. Spokane. A former volunteer ski patroller, he combines firsthand operational experience with strong community ties and board leadership.

Jim currently serves on the boards of the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce, Greater Spokane Incorporated, the Pacific Northwest Ski Area Association, Ski NW Rockies Association, and the Washington State Parks Foundation. He remains committed to strengthening outdoor recreation, tourism, and the Spokane region as a place where families and businesses thrive.
