Brenda McKinley – Community Champion
- 2022 Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year
Chamber Ambassador
Chair of the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce Liberty Lake Networking Group
On top of being a driven community leader and successful Real Estate Broker with Windermere – Brenda has invested considerable amounts of time being a leader within the Valley Chamber. As chair of the Liberty Lake networking group, Brenda has developed a core group of very active members that meet twice a month with the goal of helping each other grow their business. Brenda also schedules a variety of fun events, from axe-throwing to speed networking; the social events help everyone get to know each other on a deeper level. Her philosophy is “when people are having fun together, they are more relaxed, and solid relationships are built.”
2022 Chamber Volunteer of the Year:
Brenda is passionate about meeting new people and making them feel welcome. You might say one of her greatest strengths is being an “includer”. She will go out of her way to help break the ice for those who struggle with networking at chamber events. This is one of the elements that drew her to the Valley Chamber. During her first chamber meeting, she was greeted by a Chamber Ambassador who made her feel welcomed and comfortable. She quickly decided that she would like to become a Chamber Ambassador herself. In recognition of her outgoing personality and passion for other members’ success, Brenda was honored with the Valley Chamber’s 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award.
Community Involvement Runs Deep
In addition to the Valley Chamber, Brenda volunteers with the humane society, as a foster mom to dogs and cats. Once they are healthy and socially active, they are ready to be adopted. Brenda also volunteers for Project Beauty Share. She assists with the collection of hygiene items, such as, soap, deodorant, feminine products, shampoo, conditioners; all hygiene-related products for shelters throughout the northwest. She sits on the board for the Spokane Windermere Foundation and Fraternal order of Eagles; each organization donates thousands of dollars into our community.
Brenda told us that she tries to get involved with as many organizations as she can!
Brenda’s philosophy is rooted in her strong Christian values and believes strongly in a ‘love thy neighbor’ mentality. …. Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbour As Thyself, Matt. 22:37-39
When asking Brenda for suggestions on how others can grow their own personal networks she reiterated that getting involved in the community, and branching out to as many organizations as you can is tops in her mind. Furthermore, engaging in networking opportunities with people both inside and outside of your profession is also key.
Why the Real Estate business?
Helping people! From the first-time buyer to the couple wanting to downsize; it gives Brenda such a good feeling to help her clients fulfill their dreams. It’s probably the reason 85% of her business is repeat and referral. From residential to commercial, Brenda feels her experience can help clients buy or sell with confidence.
Brenda loves Windermere because the culture is all about building relationships and she feels their training is the best. Her office thrives because of the people helping people attitude of management, staff, and fellow agents.
Brenda and her husband will be celebrating 27 years of marriage in May of 2023. They have two grown boys. The McKinley’s have lived in the Spokane region now for 6 ½ years – relocating from Alaska. They both enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, and more.
Our Valley Chamber team loves Brenda’s enthusiasm for everything she touches, including the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce.
