City Council Approves Barker Rd. Grade Separation Project Design
At the final City Council meeting of March, the Council was tasked with deciding what their desired Barker Rd. Grade Separation Project design is. After numerous public outreach opportunities and meetings with the business community, it was decided the best alternative for our region was the 5th, which will cost roughly $19 million, in a vote of unanimous approval. This alternative will feature an overpass on Barker of the BNSF tracks, leading to a three-legged, two lane round-a-bout at the intersection of Trent (SR 290) and Barker.
At the April 10th meeting of City Council, it is expected for a contract for this project to be awarded.
