Pines/BNSF Grade Separation Project Presentation
On Thursday, the Transportation Committee heard a presentation from City of Spokane Valley planning and engineering staff about the state of their Pines/BNSF grade separation project. The project currently has $2.4 million of City funds directed towards right-of-way acquisition, and will require around $25 million before beginning construction.
Here is a list of funding options the City is pursuing:
– $4.7 million from SRTC’s regional call for projects
– $2.5 million CRISI federal grant
– $29 million BUILD federal grant (New TIGER transportation grant program)
To help with their pursuit of grant money, the City of Spokane Valley is looking to regional partners for support letters, as they pitch this grade separation project to these transportation grant programs.
