The Board of Directors of the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce has approved support of the East Valley School District Maintenance and Operations Replacement Levy that will be on the ballot this election for citizens in the East Valley School District.
The Chamber board believes that good public schools are essential to maintaining a vibrant community. The funds from this levy help maintain quality educational programs.
With anticipated budget reductions in state funding for schools, the Board considers this levy essential. The levy represents 25% of the district’s annual operating budget. The levy does not represent a new tax. Rather, it renews and replaces the expiring levy approved by voters in 2012.
Citizens who reside in the East Valley School District are encouraged to vote ‘yes’ for East Valley Schools by February 9.
